From 29.5.2001 to 13.6.2001 i was for 2 weeks in the USA.
The first week i visit Jackson in Ohio, where the sister Trish Elkins from the Lüdenhausen person Rüdiger Tenge lives.
The second week i visit Missoula in Montana, where my cousin Erika Ita Auringer lives.
Ohio and Montana are very different states in the USA.


Now follows a short report from the days of my journey with many pictures and links:

Di. 29.5. - Day 1 :
Start at 10 a.m. in Lüdenhausen, Flight with Air France from Düsseldorf to Paris (1.25 h), in Paris 2 h more waiting because of a problem with the Boing 747, then 9 h Flight from Paris to Cincinnati, Arrival at 20:15 p.m. (MESZ -6 h), Rüdiger und Garry are at the airport "Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky", Arrival by Trish in Jackson at 0:15 in the night.

Mi. 30.5. - Day 2 :
We made a trip with the car through Jackson County. In the evening eating by trish brother, we grill sausage on a big fire. Later we play Pool-Billard (germany with Rüdiger and uli, usa with garry and tim, germany wins 4:3).

Do. 31.5. -- Day 3 :
In the afternoon we eat in the "Ponderosa", it was a big sideboard for only 10 Dollar. In the evening we visit Debbie und Fred, they have build a great big house in a big territory. We drive with the car and visit interestet things.

Fr. 1.6. - Day 4 :
In the morning we drive to Columbus (90 Miles), there we visit the science center COSI. In the Afternoon we go eating in the Restaurant Spagetti-House (it stands a train in then rooms). In the evening Jed, Lisa und son Jessi visits us.

Sa. 2.6. - Day 5 :
In the morning we drive 1.5 h to Joe. He has an old house near Rockbridge. In the afternoon we visit Lancaster.

So. 3.6. - Day 6 :
With Joe i visit "Hocking Hills State Park". We walked through Old Mans Cave, Rock House and Cantwell Cliffs. Later i have driven Joe's "Hunting Vehicle", i had a lot of fun. In the evening Joe's father and mother visits us.

Mo. 4.6. - Day 7 :
At 6 a.m. we drive back to Jackso. In the afternoon we became the message, that Trish son Jed has an accident at work. So we wait util 10 p.m. Normaly i would go to a session with Jed's Band Hammertown.

Di. 5.6. - Day 8 :
At 1 p.m. we have a meeting with the Mayor of Jackson, John T.(Tom) Evans. We have talk about 2 h, it was very interesting. We have give him a present from our mayor of kalletal, Klaus Fritzemeier.
Later we visit Trish at work. The i visit Jed after his accident, but he is ok. In the evening we are sitting with many friends at the deck, because it's my last day in Ohio.

Mi. 6.6. - Day 9 :
At 8 a.m. we drive to Cincinnati. I flight with Delta Airlines from Cincinnati to Salt Lake City (3.5 h) an then to Missoula (1.5 h). At 4 p.m. (MESZ -8 Std.) i meet Erika at the airport. Later in the evening we made a first tour to missoula.

Do. 7.6. - Day 10 :
First we drive to "9 mile Historic Ranger Station", second we visit the "Elk Foundation" and third "Fort Missoula".

Fr. 8.6. - Day 11 :
At 8 a.m. start to a tour to the east, "Pintler Scenic Route" with Phillipsburg, Geoergetown Lake, Anaconda, then we visit "Butte" and "Helena". Back we drive over the "Continental Divide" and Drummond. at 7 p.m. we have finished the 450 mile tour.

Sa. 9.6. - Day 12 :
At 10 a.m. start to a tour to west to visit "Coeur d' Alene" (170 miles) in Idaho. Here it is 9 h time difference to germany. After 3.5 h driven back over the "Lookout Pass", we arrived Missoula at 7 p.m..

So. 10.6. - Day 13 :
At 10 a.m. start to a tour to north to the "Flathead Lake". In the afternoon we eat in Bigfork at "Paul - German Specialities". At 19 p.m. we were back at home.

Mo. 11.6. - Day 14 :
My last Day in the United States. I have many things to do and i am going alone a last time to Missoula.

Di. 12.6. - Day 15 :
Wake up at 4.30 a.m., Jerry has drive me to the airport. Here my long journey back to europe began. Because the weather was bad, we start in Missoula with 15 Min. delay. In Salt Lake City i has only 15 Min. time to check in on the next flight. But also here the airplane start with over 30 Min. delay. After arrival in Cincinnati at 2 p.m. i have to wait to 9.15 p.m. But the aiplane from Air France is delayed for over 1.5 h. So i have been waiting at the airport over 9 h. Because of a big thunderstorm we start at 23.15 p.m. to Paris.

Mi. 13.6. - Day 16 :
Arrived in Paris with over 2 h delay, my next flight to germany was gone.I am able to book a another flight before evening. But also in Paris ther was a thunderstorm and we have also 1 h delay. So the landing in Düsseldorf was at 6 p.m. My brother Andreas has wait for me over 4 h.
